Authorship and Contributorship Policy
Antmind Review: Journal of Sharia and Legal Ethics, published by Antmind Youth Empower Foundation, is committed to ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability in the recognition of scholarly authorship and research contributions.
The journal recognizes that authorship represents both academic credit and responsibility for published research. Accordingly, all individuals identified as authors must have made meaningful intellectual contributions to the work and must accept responsibility for its academic integrity.
This policy follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and supports transparent reporting of individual contributions using the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
Authorship Criteria and Responsibilities
Authorship should be granted only to individuals who meet all the following criteria:
-
Have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, investigation, analysis, or interpretation of the research.
-
Have participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising its intellectual content.
-
Have reviewed and approved the final version submitted for publication.
-
Agree to be accountable for their own contributions and cooperate in resolving questions regarding the accuracy or integrity of the research.
Individuals who do not meet these criteria should not be listed as authors but may be acknowledged for their contributions, with their permission.
The journal strictly prohibits gift authorship, guest authorship, honorary authorship, and ghost authorship.
Academic positions, institutional authority, financial support, or general supervision alone do not automatically qualify an individual for authorship.
All authors must ensure that their contributions are accurately represented and that the submitted work complies with the journal's publication ethics requirements.
Author Contributions and CRediT Taxonomy
Antmind Review supports the use of the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to promote transparency in identifying individual contributions to scholarly research.
Authors are required to provide an Author Contributions Statement describing their respective roles in preparing the manuscript.
Where applicable, contributions should be identified using the following internationally recognized CRediT categories:
| Contributor Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Conceptualization | Development of research ideas and objectives |
| Methodology | Design of research methods and approaches |
| Investigation | Collection of research evidence or materials |
| Formal Analysis | Analysis and interpretation of research data |
| Data Curation | Organization and management of research data |
| Resources | Provision of relevant research materials |
| Writing – Original Draft | Preparation of the initial manuscript |
| Writing – Review & Editing | Critical revision and improvement of the manuscript |
| Supervision | Academic oversight and research guidance |
| Project Administration | Coordination of research activities |
| Funding Acquisition | Acquisition of research funding |
| Validation | Verification of research findings |
| Visualization | Preparation of figures and visual representations |
| Software | Development or application of research software |
Authors may be assigned multiple roles, and the same role may be shared by several authors.
The CRediT taxonomy describes individual contributions but does not independently determine eligibility for authorship.
For single-author manuscripts, the author remains responsible for all declared scholarly contributions.
The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and agreed to their declared contributions before submission.
Corresponding Author and Author Order
The corresponding author is responsible for managing communication between the authors and the Editorial Office throughout submission, peer review, revision, and publication.
The corresponding author must ensure that:
-
All listed authors meet the journal's authorship criteria.
-
All authors approve the submitted manuscript and subsequent substantial revisions.
-
The author order has been agreed upon before submission.
-
Author names, affiliations, and contact information are accurate.
-
Required declarations concerning conflicts of interest, funding, research ethics, and author contributions are complete.
-
Editorial correspondence and publication decisions are communicated to all co-authors.
The order of authors must reflect an agreement among the authors and should be established before manuscript submission.
The journal does not determine author order based on academic rank, institutional position, or financial contributions.
Changes in Authorship and Authorship Disputes
Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must be supported by a clear explanation and written agreement from all affected authors.
Requests should be submitted by the corresponding author to the Editorial Office before publication.
The Editor-in-Chief or an independent handling editor will assess whether the proposed change is adequately documented and consistent with the journal's authorship requirements.
The journal may suspend editorial processing when an unresolved authorship dispute arises.
Because editors cannot independently adjudicate competing claims of research ownership or intellectual contribution, unresolved disputes may be referred to the relevant academic institutions for investigation or clarification.
After publication, justified changes in authorship will be addressed through a formal correction and appropriate updates to the article's metadata, in accordance with COPE guidance.
The journal does not permit undisclosed authorship changes or the addition of individuals who do not meet the established authorship criteria.
Acknowledgments and Research Integrity
Contributors who do not qualify for authorship, including individuals providing technical assistance, administrative support, language editing, or other limited contributions, should be recognized in the Acknowledgments section where appropriate.
Authors must obtain permission before naming individuals in acknowledgments.
All authors share responsibility for maintaining research integrity, ensuring accurate attribution, and addressing substantive errors or ethical concerns identified before or after publication.
Suspected authorship manipulation, undisclosed contributors, or misleading contribution statements will be handled under the journal's Publication Ethics Policy.
